A few of us planning to enter this race this race next year.
The professional race is on Sunday the 5th April, 2009 which means that us amateurs get to do it on the Saturday the 4th April, 2009.
This is a tough event. I suspect that the dozen or so cobbled climbs towards the end will be very difficult indeed particularly if it is wet. Make sure you pack your granny ring or at least a compact. The general view is that we should go for the full 260km route.

We are planning on going out on the Friday and then either coming back late Sunday or even Monday morning so we can watch the professional race on the Sunday. This race has a great atmosphere particularly on the climbs. I suspect that this has something to do with the large amounts of Belgium beer being consumed!
