|

Hi All
A general rather boring question to all regarding race day insurance. I have found when entering triathlons in the UK that there is generally an option of either comfirming that you are a BTA member or an addtional fee is payed to ensure that the entrant is covered whilst racing.
Does anyone know how this works for triathlons held in foreign climes, is it best to be a member of the BTA? _________________ Dan |

| Dan, Most basic travel insurance polices don't cover competitive races so you will need to get the cover extended. Last time I raced aboard I bought an extension to my travel insurance which covered personal accident and third party liability whilst racing. This was through Lloyds Bank. You do get cover through the BTA, however I think it is fairly limited and won't go very far when you have to pay for hospital fees and possible repatriation particularly in the US. My bike is covered under my household insurance at home and overseas. I hope this helps! |
