First attempt at the Harwich Route....
Will issue another in a few weeks (Through Blackeath - Mersea) and we can decide which one we prefer..... If the distance needs to be longer we could go further north and come back towards colchester????
Or we could all add some interpretations and make a decision before the day..

| I would love to join you John but Catherine is away that weekend so I have to baby-sit. I have cycled that route before on the way to Ipswich back in 2006 and it is quite straightforward. The only problem is trying to get through Colchester. Good luck! |

Its only Tuesday, so lets bounce some ideas around about cycling up to Harwich on Sunday.....
the coach is picking everyone up at 3.15 and 3.30 and I estimate it will take them 1-1.15 mins to get there...
So do we want to aim for being there at the same time 4.45 - 5.00? leaving us just about 1 hour to recover and cheer on our team members....
or do we aim to get there a bit later......
As this is all about being a team, my suggestion is lets all ride together, club colours and all that stuff...
Suggest we stick together as a group all the way, allowing some of the speed merchants to shoot of every so often if they desire.... pretty much like last sundays ride.....
Our route on sunday was intentional to have a look and see if we wanted to use this route for Harwich.....
Im happy to work through a route with anyone if we agree....
The above are just my own thoughts, so lets all bounce them about and come friday we might have a plan.......
Not only will we be ready to go, we might be in a situation that a certain Mr Map Man Shean , might print us some maps to use.....

hi John,
you're original route had 53/54 miles, are we going to add a few extra miles to this route to bring it to 70 ish miles? I take it you will also be competing in the aquathlon so we might want to save a little energy for the swim / run!!
So if we're aiming at 70 miles and aiming to be at Harwich by 5pm we should aim to leave Rayleigh between 12 and 1pm?
Definately agree with the keeping together idea plus would be good if everyone rode in either the club blue or the cycling yellow shirts. _________________

Great....Looks like were getting there....
Suggest I do a route to work out the miles tonight.... i will try to get us of the main roads as much as possible as it will be busy in the afternoon, but I think Harwhich might be an issue.... as there isnt much option on the last section.
From knowing the approx mileage we will be able to set the start time....
Any other ideas let me know....

Mark - You know my fear about non-matching underwear - do you have any such oddities - do you need me to pick you up lucky colours or anything? Or does John have a preference for colour and style he would like to see you in? I know the size - Jan told me - XXXL
Any way back to Harwich - well done John - thanks for working this all out just let us know time and start place. Love Zena |

As far as what colour pants you get for Mark..... anything will be an improvement on last years room mate....
He had a habit of showing everything of, just like the picture in our room..... last years girls will understand my issues when they visited..... and noticed the picture...
I didnt know if it was half moon or full moon????? and to think he was only interested in his heart beats......

Taken on boad the mileage requirements.
Route now completed as per the link... I expect to get lost a couple of times, but the distance should be about right......
Suggest we meet at Rayleigh Crown about 12.00...... Which will mean an average of about 15mph getting us there for 5.00ish... and allow for any delays.....
Happy to meet at any time?

It does concern me somewhat that John woke up in the night imagining he was looking at a female bottom like the picture on the wall; any more episodes like that this year and I suggest you move him into Mr (Mrs?) Taylor's room _________________ Richard |

Zena - make sure you get Marks pants in plenty time as he will have to iron and neatly fold them before neatly packing them!
Thanks John for route - fingers crossed for some lovely weather. Could I meet you on the way from Rayleigh to South Woodham please.

No problem Chris....
Once I know what time we are going to leave Rayleigh, we will have a better idea of what time we will be at South Woodham..... Suggest you meet us at the end of the old woodham road from retendon and the first roundabout in South Woodham... opposite side to the pub...
My mobile number is 07795153148, if you give me your number I could always phone as we are about to leave Rayleigh.....
Remember everyone to check your bikes over, as our normal last resort of a phone call home will be of no use due to everyone being on the coach..........
I spoke to Sue last night and suggest we set of at what time Sue is comfortable with.. Can anyone else who is going let me know.... I already have the following ....
Mark B
Neil L
Zena S
Chris M
Sue F
Jan B ?
Anyone else ? I know Wendy Staines and friend from Discovery Tri are plannimg to meet us on route also...... although on Sunday they will be members of East Essex Tri.
