John,
Your correct cycling has gone way out of mind at the moment. I also have family visiting from the green isle for the week so do not have a wayleave for a sunday morning ride.
Any volunteers would be gratefully accepted otherwise you are on your own magical mystery tour. Ensure it includes hill hills and more hills. I will of course be thinking of you whilst I dig into the bacon sarnies.
Apologies

| I would be interested in doing a shorter ride, 25-30 mile max, but at a good pace if the weather is reasonable. Maybe even just a series of efforts over at middlemead. Something more in line with Sprint work rather than Ironman training. |

| Are no other Ironman trainees up for a longer ride? I'd like to aim for a 60-70 miler if anyone else's plans coincide... |

If I'm out it will be for the shorter ride but I have to do something this weekend for FLM and may well be helping out with the regional academy on Sunday. _________________ Richard |

John,
Be glad to have you along - although I'm not going for any speed prizes. I won't have time to do a route on pedometer but would head out through Maldon up to Tolleshunt D'arcy and back via Tiptree. Works out about 60-65 if my memory serves me right from last year. Pretty nice route as well. |

I've just turned on the Forum and read all the entries for Sunday's ride out. Hadn't realised it was me up again for the route but I have also committed to a U17s rugby match Sunday morning KO 11am. Need to be home by 10.30 latest - Oh why is there never enough time to fit it all in?? Need a long bike/longish run/get my bike to Eric to sort the gears out/referree another adults match Saturday pm/buy my daughter a new PC/go to Burnham to take the sails off the boat/do the Masters swim Saturday am not to mention some work work I have to do for Monday.............one wonders why I have gone grey....and the wife wants me to go food shopping. Good job I lead a simple life |

Great route yesterday Lee, I made it 72 miles at a little under 18 mph.
We were all quite knackered at the end, crown hill seemed like climbing Everest, especially with two busses holding up traffic. _________________

I know how you feel - believe it or not I couldn't face the extra distance to go to Crown Hill and went up Hambro Hill as the easier option! Nearly killed me and the last two miles were a struggle, but I also managed 72 at just under 18.
Thank heavens Chris was there to force the macho out of us!! |

Chris, the run went well until the "gentle" climb back to John's house.
Was glad when it was over and had a very welcome cup of coffee at the end. _________________
